Nowadays, everyone wants to be efficient. With public interests centred around Optimal Schedules, Life Hacks, and Shortcuts, everyone seems to confuse efficiency with greater outcomes. This couldn’t be further from the truth, however. As we get more and more distracted by everything around us, we tend to want to do everything as quick as possible to make sure that FOMO doesn’t hit us. We can be 100% efficient, yet 0% effective when we do a lot of things in quick succession without making sure we do the right things. Effectiveness is not about doing things quickly; it’s about doing what matters. When we engage in life, one should prioritize effectiveness over efficiency. It’s about finding the right thing for you and deliberately taking small steps towards this thing you’re passionate about.
